DLC Review from Cav - Thursday, 11 March 2010 @ 5:30pm

Vandal Hearts Flames of Judgement

Cav goes old school with a prequel to a 13 year old game, one of his favourites, via the power of download. Is it as good as the original? Is the original as good as the original, or is it just nostalgia that makes it seem like it was so incredible? Take a look as Cav delves into the present of gaming, and his own dark past!

More Plastic Instruments On The Way? - Rock Band 3

Only a few weeks ago Activision admitted they regret not buying Harmonix and giving them the Guitar Hero franchise. There is a good reason why Activision said this, it’s because Rock Band is freakin amazing. So I’m happy to hear that another one is on the way soon.

[Review] Dantes Inferno

Review from Matt - Friday, 05 March 2010 @ 12:54pm

Dantes Inferno

Most people would be familiar with the film Lost in La Mancha. This now iconic movie documents Terry Gilliam’s failed attempt to make The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. Beset by actor injuries , bad weather, and audio problems, the only result was a 15 million dollar insurance claim and this docu-tragi-comedy.

This review will be in the same basic vein.

Sony Fuck Up Network

News from Matt - Monday, 01 March 2010 @ 3:26pm

There's no better way to say it than that. Sony have put out an update to their network that is crippling it across the US, Australia, and other countries I don't care about. One of the symptoms of this issue is that the console's date gets set to 1999, which isn't really ideal, but as I said, that's a symptom and fixing it doesn't make a bit of difference. The real downside to this is that not only can you not access the network itself, but a raft of new games cannot access the network, and without being able to start up their trophy system crash back to XMB. Among these is recent exclusive Heavy Rain.

Yes, that's right, you can not play Heavy Rain at the moment, as Sony have broken the network. The issue appears to affect the older non-slim version of the PS3 more than the newer models.
